Wheel in the Sky Keeps on Turning
October 17, 2022
Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about black holes and the mind-bending theories surrounding them...like, how crazy are those portals! Gravity so dense not even light can withstand the pull? Check. Possible wormhole effect creating a tunnel to another dimension? Check. Center of the hole creating a quantum loop, thus bending space-time and slinging everything into the future?? Check!! Far out cosmos phenomena have fascinated me since I was a child, perhaps for the mere fact that there seems to be very little possibility in my life to ever really comprehend it. It is so big and so far and so infinite that it makes me feel like a spec of an afterthought. But then even just ruminating on it is intellectually colossal and God-like at the same time, wtf?
As October opens up a new season, the lunar eclipses (Solar on October 25 - Full Moon on November 7) also create a portal of potentiality. For many this is a time associated with death, grief, and endings. For me, this is the time when Magic(k) is the most potent and accessible. Similarly to astrophysics, the Libra-Scorpio season feels like limitless imagination, endless speculation, and infinite possibility- i.e. that gust of wind on your face? - just the clearly audible whisperings of the spirits!
But back to black holes. The border of a black hole is referred to as “the event horizon”. This is the boundary beyond which light and radiation cannot escape. Think of it as the edge of space-time or the Moat of the Inevitable, lol. There are times in our lives where we can identify an event horizon in our own personal timeline. The moment before everything changes, before our whole perception of life as we know it ends and has to be rebuilt from scratch, in the mental dark. These moments feel scary but also strangely empowering. Like The Fool card in the Tarot (number 0), beginnings usually involve a wild self-thrusting into the abyss, an activity invoking the terror of total faith and delight of spontaneous curiosity alike.
So where am I going with all of this?
In the same way that our finitude leaves us feeling tiny and helpless, we have discovered spaces in the universe which open us up to unbounded perspectives and adventures.
I invite you to take a stroll around this season’s event horizon and think about the things that would be better off removed from the spotlight of your attention (and compressed into infinite density). Once you are lightly re-packed and ready for change, jump into this seasonal portal and let the wonder guide you to your next inter-dimensional experience. I am here to enthusiastically help you on your way!
Happy Eclipse Season!
Your inter-stellar stewardess,
Ania
